Former No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz is signing a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors, Raymond Brothers of I Am Sports & Entertainment confirmed to ESPN's Shams Charania. The 27-year-old guard previously played 21 games for the Sacramento Kings last season and has time with the Raptors 905 G League team this year.

Fultz, drafted in 2017, has battled injuries throughout his career, appearing in fewer than 20 games in each of his first two seasons. His standout 2022-23 season with the Orlando Magic saw him average 14 points, 5.7 assists, and shoot 51.4% from the field. He has evolved into a defensive-minded guard capable of moving the ball effectively.

The Raptors currently fight for playoff positioning against the Hawks, 76ers, Magic, Heat, and Hornets in a tight Eastern Conference race. Fultz provides additional depth and versatility for Toronto as they attempt to secure a playoff spot or avoid the play-in tournament altogether.
