Austin Wells delivered a walk-off three-run homer in the seventh inning, powering the Dominican Republic to a 10-0 rout of South Korea in the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals. The game ended under the tournament's mercy rule, capping an undefeated 5-0 run for the Dominicans in their quest for a second title.

Wells, born in Arizona to a Dominican mother, crushed a first-pitch cutter from Hyeong Jun So into the second deck in right field. The homer marked the team's second walk-off blast of the tournament after Juan Soto's game-ending drive in pool play. Fernando Tatis Jr. added two RBIs, bringing his tournament total to 11, while Christopher Sánchez struck out eight in five innings of two-hit ball.

The Dominicans, who outscored opponents 51-10 and batted .312 in the tournament, will face the United States or Canada in Sunday's semifinal at Miami. South Korea, eliminated in the first round three times since 2009, reached the quarterfinals this year but couldn't contain the Dominican offensive onslaught that produced 14 home runs, tying the WBC record set by Mexico in 2009.
