Seiya Suzuki's two home runs led Japan to an 8-6 victory over Korea in World Baseball Classic Pool C action. The Chicago Cubs slugger's power display came as defending champion Japan stayed undefeated in the tournament, hitting four home runs total at the Tokyo Dome.

Shohei Ohtani and Masataka Yoshida also went deep for Japan, with Ohtani homering for the second consecutive game after his grand slam against Taiwan. Both teams combined for five home runs in a high-scoring slugfest that featured more power than pitching, particularly in the first four innings. Japan and Australia both stand at 2-0 in Pool C and will face off Sunday.

Korea took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning but Japan stormed back with Suzuki's two-run homer in the bottom of the frame. The teams traded blows throughout, with Korea tying it 5-5 in the fourth before Japan broke through with three runs in the seventh. Yuki Matsumoto struck out the final batter with the bases loaded to preserve the win for Atsuki Taneichi.
