Schwarber to lead off for NL in All-Star Game

Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies will lead off for the National League in Tuesday night's All-Star Game, replacing the injured Shohei Ohtani. Several other players earned starting spots due to injuries and withdrawals.

In the American League, Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene and New York Yankees players Ben Rice and Cody Bellinger were added as starters. Rice, who has 29 home runs, starts at first base in place of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Bellinger replaces Aaron Judge, and Greene steps in for Byron Buxton.

National League manager Dave Roberts will start Phillies pitcher Cristopher Sanchez. He will be the 14th pitcher to start an All-Star Game in his home ballpark. Other NL starters include Juan Soto, Freddie Freeman, CJ Abrams, Max Muncy, Ozzie Albies, Brandon Marsh, Andy Pages, and Drake Baldwin. The American League lineup features Mike Trout, Yordan Alvarez, Shea Langeliers, Junior Caminero, Bobby Witt Jr., Bellinger, Rice, Greene, and Ernie Clement.
