The Chicago Cubs unveiled Champions Gate in front of Wrigley Field on Saturday to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of their 2016 World Series victory — their first championship in 108 years. The archway features plaques honoring the franchise's three title seasons: 1907, 1908 and 2016.

Members of the 2016 team participated in the ribbon cutting, including World Series MVP Ben Zobrist, team leader Anthony Rizzo, former Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta and former manager Joe Maddon. Rizzo and Maddon addressed the crowd before the ceremony.

Team architect Theo Epstein, owner Tom Ricketts and current president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer sat together as players and coaches were introduced. Epstein reflected on the reunion: "It's been a blast... What they mean to each other lives on." The Cubs captured the city that summer with a 25-6 start before winning the World Series in seven games over Cleveland.
