Carlos Ulberg claimed the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 327 Saturday night in one of the most improbable victories in MMA history. Moments after injuring his right knee during a slip on the canvas, Ulberg (14-1) stunned Jiri Prochazka with a left hook at 3:45 of the first round, sealing a sixth career knockout. The New Zealander, training alongside Israel Adesanya at City Kickboxing, remained composed despite the injury, landing 21 strikes to Prochazka’s 11 in the fight.

Prochazka (32-6-1), aiming to reclaim the belt he vacated in 2022, admitted he let Ulberg win out of pity, stating, “I felt mercy… I had it. I just let him back because I saw his injury.”.
