Georgia Bulldogs linebackers Chris Cole and Darren Ikinnagbon were arrested Wednesday night on misdemeanor charges of speeding at maximum limits and other traffic-related offenses. Cole, a junior from Virginia, faces charges of speeding and reckless driving, while Ikinnagbon, a redshirt freshman from New Jersey, was charged with speeding, reckless driving, and following too closely.

The arrests come as the latest traffic-related incidents for the Bulldogs program, which has seen multiple players face legal issues in recent years. Cole, who played in 13 games with one start in 2025, recorded 59 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks. Ikinnagbon appeared in five games this past season with two tackles.

UGA deputy athletic director Steven Drummond stated the university is "actively gathering additional information" and will not comment further due to the ongoing legal matter. The arrests follow a more serious incident in November involving backup offensive lineman Nyier Daniels, who faces 17 criminal charges including two felonies after allegedly fleeing police at speeds exceeding 150 mph with his siblings in the vehicle. Coach Kirby Smart dismissed Daniels from the team the day after his arrest.
