Tyon Grant-Foster's basketball journey has been anything but linear. After eight years, five schools, and two career-threatening collapses, the 26-year-old forward is now a key contributor for No. 8 Gonzaga. His story includes stops at Indian Hills Community College, Kansas, DePaul, Grand Canyon, and now the Bulldogs, where he's averaging 11.3 points per game.

Grant-Foster's path nearly ended in 2021 when he suffered cardiac arrest during his DePaul debut. Diagnosed with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, he received an implanted defibrillator and doctors advised him to quit basketball. He missed nearly two full seasons before resuming play at Grand Canyon, then fought the NCAA for one final season of eligibility.

A judge granted him a preliminary injunction, allowing him to suit up for Gonzaga this year. His perseverance has already paid off; he helped secure a comeback win over Seattle with a game-saving block.
