Tyler Reddick overcame a malfunctioning battery and extreme heat to win at Darlington Raceway Sunday, securing his fourth NASCAR Cup Series victory of the 2026 season. The 23XI Racing driver started on the pole and led 77 laps in the No. 45 Toyota, breaking through after three previous runner-up finishes at the 'Track Too Tough To Tame.'

Reddick faced technical challenges from the opening lap, including alternator problems that forced him to shut off cooling systems and endure temperatures in the high-80s without cockpit fans. Despite these setbacks, he mounted a remarkable comeback, erasing a seven-second deficit in the final 50 laps to beat Brad Keselowski by 5.847 seconds. Ryan Blaney finished third.

Co-owner Michael Jordan praised Reddick's resilience, comparing his performance to Jordan's famous 'flu game' in the 1997 NBA Finals. The victory extends Reddick's dominance in 2026, making him the first driver in NASCAR history to win the first three races of a season. With six races completed, Reddick joins Dale Earnhardt and Bill Elliott as the only Cup drivers to win four of the first six races in a season.
