Payton Sandfort made an extraordinary journey to surprise his brother Pryce before Nebraska's NCAA tournament game against Troy. The rookie forward, who had just made his NBA debut with the Oklahoma City Thunder the night before, caught a 3 a.m. taxi and 6 a.m. flight to arrive at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City just 10 minutes before tipoff.

Pryce Sandfort had no idea his brother would be there, believing Payton couldn't make the trip. The emotional reunion came on Nebraska's home court, where the Huskers were seeking their first NCAA tournament victory. Payton's appearance provided an incredible boost as he had scored his first NBA points the previous night on a 3-pointer during the Thunder's win against the Brooklyn Nets.

Pryce responded with a career performance, scoring 23 points on seven 3-pointers and a pair of free throws in Nebraska's dominant 76-47 victory. The brothers had previously played together for two seasons at Iowa before Pryce transferred to Nebraska. The emotional support from Payton and the electric atmosphere created what Pryce called "the best environment I've ever played in."
