Rose Lavelle has been voted U.S. Soccer's Female Player of the Year for 2025, securing 29.2% of the weighted vote. The Gotham FC midfielder finished ahead of teammates Sam Coffey and Catarina Macario. Voters included national team coaches, players, board members, and select media.

Despite an ankle injury limiting her early season, Lavelle made six USWNT appearances, scoring three goals and adding three assists. Her biggest impact came at the club level, where she led Gotham to the 2025 NWSL Championship. She scored the game-winning goal, becoming the first player to score in two NWSL finals and a World Cup final.

Lavelle credited her support system for the award. Meanwhile, her Gotham teammate Lilly Reale was named the U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year. The award has existed since 1985, with Abby Wambach holding the record for most wins.
