Rick Pitino secured his 904th career victory Monday night, surpassing Roy Williams for third place on the Division I wins list. The milestone came against his own son, Richard, who coaches Xavier. St. John's outlasted the Musketeers 87-82 in overtime at Madison Square Garden, extending their 10-game winning streak and tying No. 6 UConn atop the Big East standings. Pitino's second comeback win over his son in 17 days highlights a fierce rivalry; he now stands 5-1 against Richard. 'I hope we don't play them in the Big East tournament,' Pitino admitted, praising his son's coaching while noting the Xavier defense struggled to contain St. John's offense.
