Detroit Pistons All-Star guard Cade Cunningham will miss at least another week recovering from a collapsed left lung, the team announced Thursday. The injury occurred March 19, and Cunningham will be reevaluated in seven days while working with doctors and the team's medical staff. Detroit provided the update as they prepare to host Minnesota on Thursday night.

Cunningham, who is averaging 24.5 points and 9.9 assists per game this season, would become the first player in Pistons history to finish a season with those numbers if he maintains the pace. Only eight players in NBA history have achieved this statistical milestone. His absence comes at a critical juncture for Detroit, which has already clinched the Central Division title.

With six regular-season games remaining, the Pistons hold a four-game lead over Boston for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They are scheduled to begin their playoff run on either April 18 or 19 in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. The team's medical staff will determine Cunningham's return timeline based on his progress over the next week.
