### Ohio State-Texas Sequel Headlines Week 2

ESPN General • September 10, 2026 at 1:56 PM ET

[×](/sports?tab=espn-general)

David Hale previews Week 2's headline act: Ohio State at Texas, a sequel to last year's 14-7 Buckeyes win. The original featured Julian Sayin's first start and Arch Manning's struggles, but both have since grown. Ohio State added Earl Little Jr., Christian Alliegro, and John Walker on defense; Texas loaded up with Cam Coleman, Hollywood Smothers, and Raleek Brown.

The game moves to DKR, where Bevo and Matthew McConaughey await. Ohio State seeks redemption after falling to Indiana and Miami; Texas aims to prove last year's playoff snub was a mistake. Steve Sarkisian wants revenge.

Week 1 saw Michigan's sad field storming, UMass crushing Rutgers, and Lane Kiffin exposing Clemson's roster. Now, Ohio State-Texas must be a masterpiece, not another overwrought sequel. Manning's redemption arc or another scathing review awaits.

Also on tap: Oklahoma at Michigan and more.
