Kentucky and Gonzaga have mutually agreed to discontinue their men's basketball series that was scheduled to continue through the 2027-28 season. The joint announcement Wednesday cited a need for both programs to re-evaluate future scheduling priorities, including conference obligations and nonconference opportunities.

The decision comes after four seasons of competitive matchups between these college basketball powerhouses. Gonzaga held a 3-1 advantage over Kentucky during that span, including a commanding 94-59 victory on Dec. 5 in Nashville. The Bulldogs' dominance in recent meetings likely influenced this scheduling shift as both programs seek optimal competitive balance.

Originally, Kentucky was set to host the 2026-27 game, with Gonzaga serving as home team for 2027-28. Both schools will now pursue alternative scheduling arrangements that better align with their respective conference commitments and strategic priorities moving forward.
