NYU's historic 91-game winning streak ended Thursday night in the Division III Final Four when the Violets fell 60-52 to Scranton in Salem, Virginia. The Violets (29-1) had the second-longest streak in NCAA history, trailing only UConn's 111-game run. They entered the game as two-time defending champions but struggled mightily, trailing 30-18 at halftime.

NYU rallied in the second half, cutting Scranton's lead to three in the third quarter, but the Lady Royals sealed the victory with free throws down the stretch, including key baskets from Meghan Lamanna. Senior Caroline Peper was the only player on the team without a career loss, finishing with 19 points in the defeat. NYU had averaged over 35 points per game all season and broke the Division III record for consecutive wins, previously held by Washington University of St. Louis, on February 8th with their 82nd win.
