Hammon slams Aces' free throw disparity

Becky Hammon wasn't holding back after the Aces' 95-87 collapse against Dallas. Las Vegas squandered a 13-point second-half lead, but the coach saved her harshest words for officiating. "I'm **f---ing tired of that bulls---," Hammon declared, pointing out that Dallas' Awak Kuier shot more free throws than A'ja Wilson, Jackie Young, and Chennedy Carter combined. The Aces made just 12 trips to the line compared to 22 for the Wings.

The free throw disparity extends beyond this game. Las Vegas sits tied for last in the league at 18.3 free throw attempts per game, with Wilson averaging 6.3 alone. Hammon's frustration stems from a season-long pattern that affects the Aces' ability to control games. Wilson acknowledged the team's self-inflicted wounds after another defensive collapse, as Las Vegas gave up 101 points to the Sparks in their previous loss.

This isn't Hammon's first run-in with officials. Last postseason, she was fined for criticizing the league's officiating standards. Despite her public stance, the Aces' defensive remains the primary concern. "Until we want to play defense for 40 minutes," Hammon stated, "we'll just continue to take these lumps on the chin." The team's inability to maintain physicality cost them dearly against Dallas, dropping them to 4-3 on the season.
