Georgia coach Kirby Smart acknowledges the Bulldogs need to be more "explosive" and "bigger" in College Football Playoff moments, despite winning back-to-back SEC titles and consistently finishing in the Top 10. "We've got to find a way to... get into that playoff and play better and play bigger in bigger moments," Smart stated.

Georgia aims to become the first SEC team in a decade to win three consecutive conference titles. The team returns significant defensive production and key offensive players like redshirt senior quarterback Gunner Stockton and junior tailback Nate Frazier. Smart emphasized the team's identity lies in its collective toughness.

However, to achieve CFP success, an offensive boost is desired. Georgia had few plays of 50 yards or more last season and a low percentage of plays gaining 10 yards or more, contributing to their No. 50 total offense ranking. Fifth-year senior center Drew Bobo identified becoming a more explosive offense as the "main goal."

Smart also expressed dissatisfaction with the lengthy layoff between the conference championship and the CFP for teams that earn a bye, suggesting it impacts performance. Stockton hopes to "finish the job" in the CFP this season.
