Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was arrested early Friday morning in Scottsdale, Arizona on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to police reports. Officers conducted a traffic stop around 1 a.m. and after investigation, Brooks was taken into custody. He was booked and released from jail around 3:30 a.m.

Brooks, 30, has been sidelined for Phoenix's last five games due to a fractured left hand suffered on February 21 against Orlando. The Suns confirmed awareness of the situation in a statement to ESPN but declined further comment. Brooks was expected to return near the end of the regular season before this incident.

This offseason acquisition came to Phoenix as part of the trade that sent 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant to Houston. Brooks has been having a career year, averaging 20.9 points per game - an increase of 6.9 points from last season - along with 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and one steal. The arrest raises questions about his availability and standing with the team as they push toward the playoffs.
