Adrian Stubbs, a 5-foot-10 senior guard for Maryvale High School in Arizona, scored 100 points in just three quarters during a 109-25 win over Yuma Kofa on Jan. 13. Seventy of those points came in the first half alone, helping him shatter the previous state record of 75 set by George McCormick in 1966.

Stubbs’s historic performance has drawn sudden national attention, with past NBA stars like Richard Jefferson commenting on his play. Though he wasn’t previously on major college recruiting radars, schools like Pepperdine, Pacific, Northern Arizona, and Southern Utah have since shown new interest.

Despite the surge in visibility, Stubbs remains focused on team success and continued growth. He’s accumulated over 3,000 new social media followers and signed autographs for the first time. His next goal is translating buzz into serious college opportunities while keeping Maryvale competitive.
