Nikita Kucherov has requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning after refusing a contract extension. The 33-year-old winger, a two-time Stanley Cup champion and reigning Hart Trophy winner, is one of the NHL's elite players. Last season, he recorded 44 goals and 86 assists, leading the league in points.
With limited trade protection, the Lightning are expected to find a suitable partner. Potential destinations include the Montreal Canadiens, who have cap space and a need for top-line offense, and the Minnesota Wild, who could pair him with Kirill Kaprizov. Other teams like the Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, and New York Rangers are also considered viable options due to their offensive capabilities and championship aspirations.
