NHL Trade & Draft News
The NHL will not penalize the Ottawa Senators by stripping their 2026 first-round pick, despite the team's involvement in a canceled 2022 trade between Vegas and Anaheim involving winger Evgenii Dadonov. The league's decision preserves the Senators' draft capital as they continue building through the draft, though questions remain about the handling of the original transaction that was nullified due to compliance issues.
Fantasy Hockey Playoff Strategy
With fantasy hockey playoffs approaching, experts recommend adjusting lineups based on recent performance trends and upcoming schedules. Key strategies include prioritizing goaltenders with favorable matchups, targeting players on teams fighting for playoff positioning, and monitoring injury reports closely. Successful managers are also advised to consider streaming defensemen and forwards from teams with multiple games in a week to maximize category production.
Women's Hockey Visibility
The Professional Women's Hockey League secures national TV slot for an upcoming Detroit game, marking a significant step in expanding the sport's reach. This broadcast represents the PWHL's continued push for mainstream exposure, following similar arrangements for other marquee matchups this season. The league's growing television presence comes as women's hockey experiences increased investment and fan interest across North America.
