USL Championship Opens With Protest
Lexington SC espn.com and Louisville City FC opened the USL Championship season Friday with an on-field protest. Players from both teams stood motionless for one minute to highlight stalled CBA negotiations with the league.
Labor Dispute Intensifies
The protest marks the first major labor action in USL history. Negotiations between the United Soccer League Players Association and league management have reached an impasse over salary and working conditions.
