Samsung Googlebook appears on Geekbench with a Snapdragon X Elite chipset

Samsung is reportedly preparing its first Googlebook laptop, spotted on Geekbench 7.1.0 under model number Samsung XE940XSA. The listing indicates the device runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite chipset, codenamed "Hamoa" — the same processor used in Dell and HP Googlebooks. While the Samsung model features 16GB of RAM, storage specs remain undisclosed. The laptop ran Android 17, not Chrome OS, and is expected to include Samsung's One UI customizations atop the standard Googlebook interface. All current Googlebooks from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo offer 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, though Samsung's storage configuration has not been confirmed. The Snapdragon X Elite is built on a 4nm process, featuring 12 Oryon CPU cores and an Adreno X1-85 GPU. Clock speeds from the benchmark suggest the X1E-80-100 variant, matching the Dell and HP models. Samsung previously released the Galaxy Book4 Edge in 2024 with Windows 11 on X Elite chips, and more recently the Galaxy Book6 Edge powered by the newer Snapdragon X2 Elite.

The Googlebook platform, introduced by Google, supports Android-powered laptops from major manufacturers. Samsung's entry would expand the lineup, though the naming convention remains unclear — potentially "Galaxy Googlebook" alongside its existing Galaxy Chromebook offerings.
