The NHL holds its draft lottery tonight from the NHL Network studio in Secaucus, N.J., with the winner set to select **Gavin McKenna** with the first overall pick. The Canadian forward who played collegiately at Penn State is ranked as the NHL Central Scouting's top North American skater after recording 15 goals and 36 assists in 35 games as a freshman.

**Vancouver Canucks** hold the best odds at 25.5% after finishing with the league's fewest points (58) and are priced at +270 at FanDuel to win the lottery. The Canucks are in the midst of a rebuild following the firing of general manager Patrik Allvin and have never selected first overall in franchise history. The Blackhawks have the second-best chance at 13.5% (priced +550).

The lottery determines the top 16 picks in the June 26-27 draft in Buffalo. No club can climb more than 10 spots, meaning only the top 11 seeds are eligible to win the No. 1 selection. If McKenna isn't taken first, Swedish forward **Ivar Stenberg** is the likely alternative after ranking as the top international skater following his performance with Frolunda in the SHL.
