Ryan Beiermeister, formerly VP of Product Policy at OpenAI, has joined Founders Fund as a partner. Her departure from OpenAI in February followed a dispute over a planned "adult mode" feature for ChatGPT, which she reportedly objected to. The Wall Street Journal reported an accusation of sexual discrimination against her by a male colleague, which Beiermeister denied.

More recently, Beiermeister gained attention for her strategic gameplay in the Founders Fund YouTube series "Mafia," where she competed against figures like Sam Altman and Trae Stephens. Despite speculation that her performance in the game influenced her hiring, a Founders Fund spokesperson stated that her skills in "Mafia" were not part of the interview process.

Beiermeister has a long-standing relationship with Trae Stephens, having worked together at Palantir. Her prior experience also includes a role at Meta. She expressed enthusiasm for supporting startups in challenging sectors like AI infrastructure, defense, and climate, particularly those from founders who "don't fit the standard mold."
