Revolut has been granted a French banking licence,Overlap from a joint assessment by French regulators and the ECB.

In April, Revolut signed a 10-year lease for its Western Europe headquarters in Paris, covering 2,417 m² across six floors_tp. The London‑based fintech will open this space early next year and is hiring more than 600 people across markets in Western Europe.

The licence allows Revolut to offer a wider selection of loans, mortgages and savings products. “France has become a leading financial hub, supported by a dynamic financial ecosystem and a robust regulatory framework,” said co‑founder and CEO Nik Storonsky.

Revolut’s French entity will serve customers in France, with Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Spain to follow. Its Lithuanian entity serves the rest of the European Economic Area (EEA), creating a dual‑hub model under local authority and the ECB.
