Two of Klarna's longest-serving executives, CFO Niclas Neglén and CMO David Sandström, will depart early next year, continuing a leadership reshuffle after the Swedish fintech's IPO. Neglén, who spent six years at the company and led its September public listing, and Sandström, credited with driving US growth, will stay through the transition. Klarna has begun searching for a New-York based CFO replacement.

CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski praised both executives, stating they "helped shape what Klarna is" and leave a stronger company. The firm emphasized neither departure stemmed from disagreements over operations or policies. This follows COO Camilla Giesecke's exit in April after nine years.

The changes come after Klarna recalibrated a major AI initiative. After claiming its AI assistant could replace 700 customer service agents, Bloomberg reported the company rehired human support staff last year when automation compromised service quality. Siemiatkowski now deems it "critical" that human agents remain available.
