Finland‑based autonomous airship firm Kelluu closed a €15 million Series A, led by the NATO Innovation Fund, marking the body’s first investment in a Finnish company. The round also drew Keen Venture Partners, Gungnir Capital and Tesi.

Kelluu operates the world’s largest fleet of hydrogen‑powered, unmanned airships that can loiter over 30 000 sq km for more than 12 hours. The funding will expand the fleet and refine the sensing platform for both defence and civilian applications such as wildfire detection.

With European defence budgets climbing, the deal signals growing confidence in low‑cost, persistent ISR solutions. Kelluu’s technology offers a middle ground between satellite imagery and battery‑limited drones, potentially reshaping how NATO’s eastern flank monitors activity.
