Paris-based Comand AI has raised €32m in Series A funding, with London's Blossom Capital leading the round alongside Swedish defence prime Saab and Polish investor Expeditions. The battlefield software company develops an AI platform that helps military officers plan operations and analyze performance post-mission. This follows an €8.5m seed round in December 2024, bringing total funding to approximately €40.5m.

CEO Loïc Mougeolle founded the company to help officers execute operations four times faster with fewer personnel. The platform has been deployed with operational units across France, Germany, Ukraine and other allied nations over the past year. Comand AI will use the fresh capital to expand across NATO markets and enter new operational domains including air and maritime defense.

Mougeolle argues that modern warfare is shifting from speech-and-text command structures to algorithmic perception and decision-making. He warns that 'the nations that adapt fastest will prevail.' The startup already counts Eurazeo, Frst, Kima Ventures and Tiny VC among its backers.

Blossom Capital's defence investments are accelerating, having also backed Estonian air defence startup Frankenburg Technologies last year. This reflects growing private capital interest in European defence technology amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
