The firm’s US buyout strategy distributed capital at more than double the industry rate, chief executive Harvey Schwartz noted on the firm’s latest results call.

The Carlyle Group posted distributable earnings of $472 million in the second quarter – its best quarter in nearly four years – powered by record realisations, according to its quarterly earnings results on Wednesday.

The firm returned nearly $7 billion to clients in Q2 2026 and $37 billion over the past year, with its flagship US buyout strategy distributing capital at more than twice the industry’s pace.

These figures underline Carlyle’s robust performance and its ability to generate superior investor returns, reinforcing confidence among stakeholders and positioning the firm for continued growth in a competitive market.
