Shore Capital raises $400m for second industrial fund

Chicago‑based Shore Capital Partners closed its second industrial‑focused private equity vehicle with over $400m in commitments, extending a fundraising streak that began with a $207m debut fund last year. The new Industrials Fund II will chase infrastructure‑adjacent services such as utility work, aviation maintenance and residential overhead doors.

Founder billionaire Justin Ishbia said the fund rides sustained tailwinds across sub‑categories, allowing Shore to act as a long‑term partner that backs operational excellence, leadership development and scalable infrastructure. Existing limited partners supplied most of the capital, reflecting confidence after the firm amassed $1bn of new money in 2023 despite higher interest rates curbing broader private equity fundraising.

With $17bn in assets under management and 322 portfolio companies, Shore’s expanded capital base positions it to capture growth in niche maintenance and repair markets that benefit from steady demand and low cyclicality. Investors will watch deal flow into utility and aviation service providers, while competitors gauge whether similar sector‑specific funds can replicate the model.
