Private equity firm Tailwind Capital has acquired a stake in Valor Fleet Services, a Leesburg, Virginia-based towing and recovery company. Bruce Dressel, an operating executive at Tailwind, is joining Valor’s board as executive chairman. The deal brings financial backing and strategic oversight to a growing regional player in the commercial vehicle services market.

Valor operates a network of well-known local brands, including Road Runner Wrecker Service, Henry’s Wrecker Service, Windsor Towing, Al’s Towing, and Aaron’s Towing. CEO David Butcher will continue leading the company. This partnership aims to consolidate a fragmented industry, using capital to expand service capabilities and geographic reach across the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.

Tailwind’s investment reflects a broader trend of private equity targeting essential, recession-resistant services like towing and logistics support. The firm typically partners with management to scale operations through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
