PACT Capital Partners is taking a passive, non-voting minority stake in Sterling Investment Partners for undisclosed terms. PACT is a GP stakes investor focused on middle-market alternative asset managers. The deal will not change Sterling's day-to-day management or investment process.

Sterling will use the capital for its long-term strategic priorities, including increasing general partner commitments to its future funds, creating additional equity incentives for its investment professionals and continuing to invest in its resources and capabilities. The firm has spent more than 35 years making control investments in value-added business services and distribution platforms.

Sterling is currently deploying Sterling Investment Partners Fund V and the XK Opportunities Fund, a continuation fund for infrastructure services provider XKIG. Both funds were raised in 2025 and reached their hard caps. Since inception, Sterling has completed approximately 300 transactions with an aggregate value of more than $35 billion.

"Sterling is exactly the type of firm with whom we like to partner," said Christian von Schimmelmann, founder and managing partner at PACT. "We have followed Sterling's achievements for many years." New York-headquartered PACT provides capital and strategic support to middle-market alternative asset management firms, using its proprietary PACT platform to help partner firms with capital formation, product launches, operations and talent. Houlihan Lokey served as financial adviser and Kirkland & Ellis as legal counsel to Sterling. Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson provided legal counsel to PACT.
