GTCR has partnered with Brian Crotty to launch Avelis Holdings, a new US-based platform focused on data, benchmarking, and analytics solutions for global commodity and industrial markets. Crotty, who will serve as CEO, brings extensive experience in the data space. This venture represents GTCR's strategic entry into the specialized information services sector.

Previously, Crotty served as CEO of Oil Price Information Service. Following OPIS's acquisition by IHS Markit in 2016, he successfully led the carveout and sale of energy assets, including OPIS to Dow Jones in 2022 during the S&P Global and IHS Markit merger. This track record positions him well for Avelis's market entry.

The formation of Avelis comes amid increasing demand for specialized market data and analytics. GTCR's investment signals confidence in the commodity data sector's growth potential.
