Liberty Mutual (LMI), previously an LP and co‑investor in equity funds managed by GDEV Management, now anchors a new renewable energy debt strategy. The partnership signals a shift in how infrastructure is perceived, aligning with global decarbonisation goals.

GDEV Management will focus the strategy on green infrastructure, targeting renewable projects across the Caribbean and other high‑growth markets. The deal is expected to mobilise approximately $5bn of capital, with LMI leveraging its insurance‑backed financing expertise to support sustainable development.

LMI’s involvement brings robust risk management and long‑term capital to the table, enhancing the attractiveness of renewable projects to other investors. The collaboration underscores the growing importance of renewable‑energy debt within the infrastructure sector.

Industry observers note that this move may encourage additional institutional participation, potentially reshaping the broader infrastructure investment landscape toward greener, more resilient assets.
