The company's technology aims to accelerate MRI scan times and improve image quality through deep learning algorithms.

TA Associates, founded in 1968 and based in Boston, considers a range of investment types, from minority to majority investments. The firm invests in healthcare and several other sectors, managing over $47 billion in capital across its funds. TA's healthcare practice focuses on life sciences, healthcare services, and healthcare IT.

Terms of the investment were not disclosed. The deal highlights continued private equity interest in AI-enabled medical imaging platforms, as investors seek exposure to technologies that can reduce costs and improve diagnostic accuracy. AIRS Medical plans to use the capital to expand its commercial footprint in the United States and Europe.
