### Galaxy Watch 9, Ultra 2 get 5 years of OS updates

Samsung has announced that its latest smartwatches, the **Galaxy Watch 9** and **Galaxy Watch Ultra 2**, will receive five years of Wear OS updates. This commitment extends support until **2031**, beginning with Wear OS 7.

This marks a significant improvement in software longevity for wearables, surpassing the four-year update window for the Galaxy Watch 8 and the three-year support offered for Google's Pixel Watch. The extended update policy aligns with Samsung's existing five-year commitment to security patches for its older wearables.

During yesterday's Galaxy Unpacked event, it was also revealed that the Galaxy Watch 9 features a **20 percent** battery bump, while the Watch Ultra 2 boasts a display with up to **5,000 nits** of brightness. Both models incorporate new AI-powered health-tracking features.
