### Samsung Ends Galaxy Watch 4, 4 Classic Support

Samsung has officially ended software support for the **Galaxy Watch 4** and **Galaxy Watch 4 Classic**, removing them from its Security Updates page. The devices have reached the end of their **five-year** software support cycle and will no longer receive quarterly security patches. The final update rolled out in **August**, containing only essential security fixes.

Launched with **Wear OS 3** co-developed by Samsung and Google, the Watch 4 series marked a shift from Samsung's in-house Tizen OS. However, the UI closely mirrored Tizen and lacked several standard Wear OS features found on competitors like the TicWatch.

As of **September 2024**, the oldest supported models are the **Galaxy Watch 5** series and **Galaxy Watch 5 Pro**. Samsung's latest **Galaxy Watch 9** series now utilizes Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset and expanded health tracking capabilities.
