Apple's iPhone 18 Pro lineup arrives this September with a collection of significant upgrades that could reshape the premium iPhone experience. The company plans to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and a foldable iPhone Ultra in early September, with sales beginning later that month. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and second-generation iPhone Air will follow in March 2027.

The iPhone 18 Pro introduces a Dark Cherry color option alongside Light Blue, Dark Gray, and Silver, while retiring Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue. A redesigned Dynamic Island will shrink by moving Face ID's flood illuminator beneath the display. Both models keep the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens from the iPhone 17 Pro series, but incorporate LTPO+ technology for improved battery efficiency.

Apple's A20 Pro chip represents the biggest leap, utilizing TSMC's first-generation 2nm process compared to the 3nm A19 Pro. This should deliver meaningful performance and efficiency gains. The third-generation C2 modem follows the C1X from iPhone Air, adding satellite 5G connectivity for web browsing without cellular coverage. An upgraded N2 chip will handle Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 functions.

The Camera Control button loses touch sensitivity and haptic feedback, simplifying to pressure-only input. Meanwhile, the rear Ceramic Shield adopts a more frosted, seamless design compared to the current two-tone approach. These refinements suggest Apple is prioritizing reliability over radical redesigns for its next flagship lineup.
