iPhone 18 Pro Production Timeline Revealed

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro has entered production testing phase, according to a Chinese leaker known as Fixed Focus Digital. The Pro models have reportedly begun "mass-production testing," which typically represents late-stage manufacturing validation ahead of a September launch. This timeline aligns with Apple's usual schedule of transitioning from Design Validation Test to Production Validation Test in February.

The leaker also indicated regular iPhone 18 models have started testing, though they're likely in earlier validation stages since that device isn't expected until early next year. No major material changes are planned for the iPhone 18 Pro, with outward differences potentially limited to a smaller Dynamic Island. Internal upgrades include a variable aperture camera system, the new A20 chip, and custom C2 modem.

Despite these improvements, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests the iPhone 18 Pro won't be the centerpiece of Apple's fall launch. The company's first foldable iPhone is expected to steal the spotlight instead. This production timeline confirms Apple is on track for its typical September release schedule, though the Pro models appear to be more evolutionary than revolutionary this year.
