Apple is facing a proposed class action lawsuit over a reported "Hide My Email" flaw that could potentially expose a user's real email address. The lawsuit alleges that Apple violated California's false advertising law and other consumer protection statutes by offering a feature that allegedly does not function as advertised.

A security researcher reportedly disclosed this vulnerability to Apple in June 2025. While there are no known instances of exploitation, the specific steps to trigger the flaw have not been publicly shared as a precautionary measure.

This legal action comes amidst other ongoing litigation involving Apple, including a UK class action regarding iCloud user overcharges and the Supreme Court's agreement to hear Apple's appeal in its App Store dispute with Epic Games. Additionally, Apple previously sued YouTuber Jon Prosser and Michael Ramacciotti in July 2025 over alleged theft of trade secrets related to iOS leaks.
