Apple has a special touch planned for customers who buy an iPhone Duo in an Apple Store. Employees will be able to customize the device so it displays the buyer's name on the "Hello" screen when it turns on for the first time.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that Apple retail stores in the United States will offer a personalization system for adding the buyer's name to an iPhone Duo, with English and Spanish language options. In his post, Gurman described it as a fun little touch for the launch, saying the boot screen could read "Hello, Mark" for example. The feature is limited to the US and to the Duo model.

Gurman says the name option will presumably be available for devices ordered for in-store pickup and for devices purchased in person.

The iPhone Duo will be available for pre-order starting October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, and it will launch on October 23. Pricing starts at $1,999.
