Apple's Santa Rosa location will relocate later this month, moving from the enclosed Santa Rosa Plaza mall to the open-air Montgomery Village shopping center. The new store is set to open with a grand unveiling on January 23 at noon local time. The current Santa Rosa Plaza location has served customers since 2004.

The shift reflects Apple's broader strategy of prioritizing accessible, modern retail spaces that blend indoor and outdoor experiences. Montgomery Village offers better visibility and direct parking access — a draw for customer traffic. This move mirrors ongoing changes at other California locations.

Apple is also renovating stores in Carlsbad and Costa Mesa, operating temporary setups during construction. These transitions are part of Apple’s long-term investment in high-touch retail environments as it balances digital growth with physical consumer engagement.
