Apple has released iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6, updates to their respective operating systems. These versions follow iOS 26.5.2, a security update released a month prior.

Eligible iPhones and iPads can download these updates over-the-air via Settings > General > Software Update. According to Apple's release notes, both iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 include important security fixes.

Furthermore, these updates optimize the Spotlight index, preparing for the upcoming iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. iOS 26.6 is expected to be one of the final updates for the iOS 26 series, as Apple is currently beta testing iOS 27, which is slated for a September launch alongside new iPhone models.
