Apple's upcoming HomePad smart home device will feature a magnetic snap-to-wall capability similar to MagSafe, according to prototype collector Kosutami. The device, which has been in development for years, will also include doorbell integration and a 7-inch square display with front-facing camera.

The HomePad is designed as a centralized control hub for smart home products, music playback, video calls, and glanceable information like weather and calendar events. Kosutami told *MacRumors* that while 'HomePad' is the internal codename, the final product name remains uncertain.

Originally expected in early 2025, the device's launch has been pushed to fall 2026 due to Apple Intelligence delays. This timing would position it alongside other major Apple releases like the iPhone 18 Pro and redesigned MacBook Pro models.
