Apple now expands its Private Cloud Compute, or PCC, beyond its own data centers. By partnering with Google and NVIDIA, the company will run Apple Intelligence workloads on Google Cloud. Apple’s strategy also protects user data across third‑party hardware. Apple insists its PCC framework stays unchanged: stateless computation, enforceable guarantees, no privileged runtime access, non‑targetability, and verifiable transparency. On Google Cloud, the system employs NVIDIA Confidential Computing, Intel CPUs with TDX, and Google’s Titan chip. All components sit in a trusted computing base, with a cryptographically verifiable ledger that tracks every piece of hardware to curb supply‑chain risk today.

Apple will release PCC binaries for public inspection and grant research teams access through its Security Bounty Program. Though not fully deployed, beta testing will gradually roll out full protections. The partnership signals Apple’s willingness to outsource heavy AI lifting while keeping privacy guarantees intact, potentially reshaping how consumer cloud services balance performance and data security for the future of the industry.
