Apple's biggest event of the year is almost here, and all eyes are on Cupertino. With the first foldable iPhone expected to headline Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event on Wednesday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, the rumor mill has been running full throttle, fuelled by the biggest single design change in the life of the iPhone.

To get you up to speed, here's a quick reference guide to the rumoured upgrades, expected prices, and possible pre-order/release dates. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to feature a similar design to the iPhone 17 Pro models, a smaller Dynamic Island, more efficient LTPO+ displays, an A20 Pro chip using TSMC's 2nm process, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB starting storage. Camera upgrades include a variable-aperture main lens and a possible Samsung sensor. The Pro Max may get a larger battery, making it slightly thicker.

The iPhone Ultra, a foldable with a book-style design, is rumored to have a 5.5-inch outer display and 7.8-inch inner display, a liquid-metal hinge, Touch ID in the Side button, and an A20 Pro chip. It could feature iPad-like multitasking. Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are expected with faster chips and health improvements. AirPods 5 might also debut. The regular iPhone 18 is not expected until spring 2027. Pricing could rise due to higher memory costs.
