Samsung pushed the Android 16‑based One UI 8.5 stable update to the Galaxy A24 4G this week, and engineers have already begun testing the Android 17‑based One UI 9 for the same handset. A firmware build labeled A245FXXUCGZF4 appeared on Samsung’s server, confirming the beta is in internal QA, though a public rollout date remains undisclosed.

So far only the Galaxy S26 series has received a public One UI 9 beta, underscoring Samsung’s flagship‑first approach. The company plans to ship the new interface out of the box on its upcoming folding line‑up—Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Fold8 Ultra—rumored for a July 22 launch in London. Expansion of the beta to other models has not been scheduled.

For A24 owners, a One UI 9 update would extend software longevity on a budget device, keeping it competitive with newer mid‑range phones. Samsung’s staggered rollout hints at a strategy to polish the UI on high‑end hardware before back‑porting, suggesting a stable release for the A24 could appear later in the year once bugs are ironed out.
