Samsung Galaxy S26+ Skips Display Upgrade

Samsung scrapped the planned Galaxy S26 Edge late in development, shifting resources to the Galaxy S26+. Insiders cited by Korean outlet The Elec say the company originally intended to equip the Plus model with the Edge’s new display panel, then reversed the decision, leaving engineers racing against a tight schedule.

With the Edge panel off the table, Samsung will reuse an almost identical screen from the Galaxy S25+, though it will pair the display with a new glass composition. Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S26 gains a 6.27‑inch panel, 0.11 inches larger than the S25’s 6.16‑inch screen, hinting at modest visual upgrades.

Production data shows Samsung already mass‑produced the Galaxy S26 Ultra, while targeting 600,000 units of the Plus and 700,000 of the base model. The lineup is slated for a February 25 unveiling, a month later than last year’s launch, and analysts will watch whether Samsung ramps up Plus volumes after the event.
